Accident Summary:
According to the Austin Police Department, a collision between a vehicle and a pedestrian occurred at approximately 2:12 a.m. on June 29, 2022.
The APD Public Information Office stated that: “Austin Police Department (APD) officers responded to a 9-1-1 call reporting a crash between a vehicle and a pedestrian in the 11700 block of N Mopac Expressway SVRD NB. The caller stated that a vehicle hit an off-duty Poteet Police Department Officer. APD officers and Austin-Travis County EMS responded to the scene. The off-duty officer, Jeffrey Richardson, was taken to St. David’s Round Rock Medical Center, where he later died.”
