According to the Austin Police Department, a vehicle vs pedestrian accident occurred at approximately 7:59 a.m. on December 22, 2022.
The APD Public Information Office stated that: “Austin Police Department (APD) officers responded to a crash between the driver of an SUV and a pedestrian, Roman Ferretiz Cervantes, in the 13200 block N US Hwy 183 SVRD. Cervantes was operating a work zone when the accident happened. He died on the scene. The driver remained at the scene and cooperated with the investigation.”
