According to the Austin Police Department, a vehicle vs pedestrian accident occurred at approximately 7:24 p.m. on October 26th, 2022.
The APD Public Information Office stated that: “Austin Police Department (APD) officers responded to a crash between a pick-up truck and a pedestrian, Rogelio Alonso Puente, in the 5100 block of N IH 35 NB. A preliminary investigation shows that Puente was crossing the highway in the westbound direction when he was struck by the truck. Puente died on the scene.”
