According to the Austin Police Department a single-vehicle accident occurred at approximately 7:59 p.m. on August 4, 2022. The APD Public Information Office stated that: “Austin Police Department (APD) officers responded to a single-vehicle crash at the 11700 block of N. Mopac Expy SB. A preliminary investigation revealed that the driver, Melinda Gonzalez, was driving south when she veered her vehicle to the right and hit a metal guardrail along the west side of the roadway.
