A report from Fox 7 Austin News states that there was a collision between two vehicles on Saturday, May 10, 2025, at around 2:30 a.m. on State Highway 71, near McAllister Road. A 2022 Tesla was headed west in the eastbound lanes of the highway when it collided with a 2010 Nissan Sentra. The two occupants in the Nissan were pronounced dead at the scene. The driver of the Tesla was taken to the hospital but was later pronounced dead.
