Tragedy During Travis Scott’s Performance at Astroworld festival

The entire team at Sandoval & James sends our condolences to everyone affected by the tragedy that occurred last night, November 5th, in our neighboring Houston. At least eight people were killed and many more injured during the Travis Scott concert at the Astroworld festival.

According to the most recent reports, a crowd surge occurred during Travis Scott’s performance. Due to the surge, many in the crowd attempted to move away from the stage and towards the exits. Tragically, at least eight people were killed and many more injured during the course of the surge. Undoubtedly, the effects of this tragedy are likely to felt by many in our Austin community as well as those in Houston.

The concert was part of the Astroworld music festival, a two-day event that began on Friday. The festival took place at NRG Park, which is named after NRG Energy, and is home to NRG Stadium, NRG Center, NRG Arena, and the NRG Astrodome. The festival, as well as Scott’s performance, were located in adjacent parking areas located in the Northwest area of NRG Park. About 50,000 people were there on Friday night, according to the Houston Fire Department.
