Accident Summary:
According to the Austin Police Department, a vehicle vs vehicle accident occurred at approximately 8:16 a.m. on September 6, 2022.
The APD Public Information Office stated that: “Austin Police Department (APD) officers responded to a crash between three vehicles in the 600 block of N IH 35 SB. A preliminary investigation revealed that a garbage compactor truck was traveling southbound in the outside lane when it crashed into the rear end of a four-door sedan. The sedan then hit the back of a second garbage compactor truck. The driver and passenger of the four-door sedan died on scene. The drivers of both garbage compactor trucks were taken to a hospital with non-life threatening injuries.”
