Summary of the Accident

A fatal crash involving an SUV and a pedestrian occurred on Saturday night in North Austin, leaving one person dead. The crash happened around 8:29 p.m. in the 14100 block of North IH 35 southbound lanes, according to the Austin Police Department (APD). The pedestrian, whose identity has not been released yet, was pronounced dead at the scene. The driver of the SUV stayed at the scene and cooperated with the police. This was the 16th fatal crash in Austin this year, resulting in 16 deaths. At this time last year, there were 12 fatal crashes and 13 deaths. The APD’s Vehicular Homicide unit is investigating the cause of the crash and asking anyone with information to contact them at 512-974-8111.
