The Austin Police Department (APD) reports a fatal pedestrian-vehicle collision on Friday, January 13, 2023. At 10:17 a.m., APD officers responded to the 1900 block of E. William Cannon Drive, where a pedestrian, identified as Kenneth Edward Wilson, was hit by a vehicle when he attempted to cross the roadway. According to the APD Public Information Office, Wilson was taken to a hospital where he died on January 23. The incident is being investigated as the fifth fatal crash in Austin in 2023, resulting in five fatalities for the year. In comparison, on the date of this crash in 2022, one fatal crash resulted in two deaths.
