According to the Austin Police Department (APD), on March 2, 2025, at around 4:16 a.m., a collision with a single motorcycle on the 8600 Block of Research Boulevard Northbound. The injuries from the accident were so catastrophic that the motorcyclist was pronounced dead at the scene of the accident. This is still an ongoing investigation. This is Austin’s 9th fatal crash in 2025.
