According to the Austin Police Department (APD), on February 21, 2025, at around 11:15 p.m., a collision occurred between two vehicles at the intersection of IH-35 SVRD northbound and Ben White Boulevard. The driver of the first vehicle fled the scene. Medical personnel arrived at the scene and the second driver was transported to a local hospital with significant injuries. Despite all of their life-saving efforts, the injuries sustained by the crash were too severe and the driver was pronounced deceased at the hospital on February 25, 2025. The driver of the third vehicle remained at the scene. This is Austin’s 8th fatal crash in 2025.
