Toys for Tots

Toys for Tots is a charitable program run by the United States Marine Corps Reserve. Its mission is to collect new, unwrapped toys during October, November, and December each year and distribute them as Christmas gifts to less fortunate children in the community. Founded in 1947, the program aims to bring joy to children who might otherwise go without during the holiday season. Local Toys for Tots campaigns are conducted annually in over 800 communities across all 50 states, the District of Columbia, and Puerto Rico. The program relies on the generosity of local businesses, organizations, and individuals who donate toys or funds. Volunteers coordinate toy drives, sort and distribute the gifts, and ensure donations reach children in time for the holidays. The impact of Toys for Tots extends beyond providing toys; it also promotes unity and compassion within communities. By involving a wide range of participants, the program encourages civic engagement and highlights the importance of supporting those in need. The smiles and joy brought to millions of children over the years reflect the program’s enduring commitment to making a positive difference.
