A fatal crash occurred on Thursday morning in Austin involving a sedan and two pickup trucks. At approximately 11:17 a.m., Austin Police Department (APD) officers responded to the crash at the intersection of Farm Road 620 and Pecan Park Boulevard. The driver of the sedan—identified as Ivy Ford (87)—tragically died on the scene. Both drivers in the pickup trucks remained at the scene and are cooperating with the investigation. This incident marks Austin’s 15th fatal crash of 2023 resulting in 15 fatalities for the year. At this time last year, there had been 12 fatal crashes resulting in 13 deaths. These statements are from APD’s initial assessment of this fatal crash and their investigation is still ongoing. Fatality information may change as more details emerge.
