Alyssa M. Arellano joined Sandoval & James in 2025 as an Associate Attorney and works in our litigation department. She previously worked at the firm as a legal intern while she was a law student at the University of Texas School of Law (Hook ’Em!). Alyssa is a compassionate and spirited attorney who is eager to put clients first and use her creativity to ensure the best outcome in every case she handles.
As an undergraduate, Alyssa attended St. Edward’s University in Austin, Texas, where she double majored in Accounting and Economics. At St. Edward’s, Alyssa was an active leader in various student organizations, made Dean’s List all 8 semesters, and was inducted in 4 honors societies. In 2022, she graduated Summa Cum Laude (3.99 GPA) with multiple distinctions. During her time at St. Edward’s, Alyssa was awarded the Texas CPA Accounting Excellence Award and a scholarship from the Hispanic Bar Association of Austin. In 2022, Alyssa was recognized for her leadership and impact when she was awarded the prestigious St. Edward’s University Presidential Award.
Immediately after undergrad, Ms. Arellano went to law school at the University of Texas School of Law. While at Texas Law, she was a leader in various student organizations including the Chicano/Hispanic/Latino Law Students’ Association (CHLLSA), The Pipeline Program, Jon Brumley Texas Venture Labs, and The Texas Hispanic Journal of Law & Policy. In law school, Alyssa was also highly involved in Pro Bono work, having been a part of the Entrepreneurship and Community Development Clinic and the Mithoff Pro Bono Program. Alyssa’s leadership and involvement within the law school was recognized by her peers when she was awarded the CHLLSA Spirit of Creativity Award her 3L year. Further, through her dedication and significant contributions to The University of Texas at Austin as a whole, Alyssa was inducted into the Friar Society.
Alyssa was born and raised in Austin, Texas and is a first-generation attorney. As a true Austinite, she loves exploring her city. She enjoys the arts, attending concerts and UT sporting events, reading, knitting, traveling, trying new foods, and spending time with her dogs and family.
